Q. Where is Memories on Miramar Retreat Cabin?
A. Memories on Miramar is located in northwestern Wisconsin, just outside of Spooner, WI. The retreat cabin is situated on 8 acres with a short walk to the lake shore of Spooner Lake. We are 100 miles northeast of the Twin Cities of Mpls./St. Paul, MN. 80 miles north of Eau Claire, WI or 60 miles south of Duluth, MN/Superior, WI. We will send you detailed directions after receiving your reservation and deposit!
Q. What crafts can I do at 'MoM'?
A. We are set up to accept just about any craft! We have equipment for scrapbooking, stamping/card creating, quilting and any other related crafts. Please see the equipment page for complete listings!
Q. How much crafting space is there for each guest?
A. We have 3x5 foot tables for each crafter, each with a comfortable, adjustable fabric manager's chair. We have adequate lighting above each group of tables and plenty of outlets! Q. Are there Scrapbooking or Quilting Stores nearby, for those last minutes purchases?
A. Yes, we have 3 stores that carry Scrapbooking supplies. Organized Chaos in Shell Lake - 5 miles south of Spooner on Hwy. 63, and Pamida and Zeller's in downtown Spooner. We have two stores that carry Quilting supplies. Thimbles Quilt Shop in Trego - 5 miles north of Spooner on Hwys. 53/63, and Zeller's in downtown Spooner.
Q. What are the accommodations?
A. There are three bedrooms and a loft. The upper level bedroom sleeps 5, the upper level loft sleeps 2, one main level bedroom sleeps 3 another sleeps two - all in twin beds. There are 3 bathrooms, one on each floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, baking dishes, utensils, crockpots, coffee maker/filters, blender, napkins, paper towels, and everything that you need to prepare your meals!
Q. What bedding/towels does 'MoM' furnish for its guests?
A. MoM furnishes the quilt/comforter/blanket, top/bottom sheets, pillow and pillowcase. We provide bathroom and kitchen hand towels and liquid soap. You bring your own bath towels, washcloths and toiletries. MoM has a small quantity of house towels, toothpaste/toothbrushes and shampoo for those that may forget. Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. Confirm that the date that you want is available by calling or e-mailing us. If that date is available, fill out one of the reservation forms for either a Regular Rental or MoMs Weekend. Send in your nonrefundable deposit within 10 days and when we receive it, that date will become yours! Your balance is due 30 days before your retreat date. If you need additional information, you can call us at 651-998-0519.
Q. What are the Check-In and Check-Out times?
A. Check-In time is at 3:00 p.m. and Check-out time is at 3:00 p.m. Weekly Rentals have a Check-In/Check-out times of 10:00 a.m. on Fridays. Q. Do you have Daily Rental Rates or Weekly Rental Rates?
A. Yes, we have daily rental rates for Monday through Thursday. 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with no overnight stays. Cost is: $125.00 plus tax. The Weekly Rate is: 2007: $1600.00 per week, 2008: $1700.00 per week.
Q. What about food for the weekend?
A. Your group supplies the food for the weekend. The coordinator for your group may organize a team of 2 or 3 to purchase and cook one meal. Or a team of guests shop for the whole group and they take turns cooking for the whole group. We suggest using prepared meals such as "Let's Dish or Super Suppers" for hassle free meals and quick clean ups!
Q. Are there pizza places that deliver to Memories on Miramar?
A. Yes, we have Denelies Pizza in Spooner that delivers to MoM. Phone number: 715-635-8825. They are located at 401 River Street in Spooner. If you would like to pick up pizza, there is Tony's Riverside and Jerseys. There are also places in Spooner and Trego that have Take-Out menus.
Q. What if we don't have a group to fill the retreat cabin?
A. You can come with less, but the daily rate stays the same. Check the Message Board for groups with less than 12, individuals, or small groups that would like to fill the retreat and keep the cost down. MoMs weekends are special just for this reason. We would like a minimum of 8 crafters for a MoMs weekend of crafting fun! Grab a girlfriend and join the group! Call or e-mail us for availability.
Q. Can we bring snacks?
A. Yes, please do bring snacks. We have a table available to set up your snacks on. We also have a small refrigerator in the Craft Room for your beverages!
Q. Can we bring alcoholic beverages?
A. We would prefer that you would stick to sodas or water, but an occasional wine cooler or beer would be fine with us.
Q. Do we have to clean before we leave?
A. No, MoM has it's own cleaning crew, but we ask that you gather your linens, empty your trash cans and run the dishwasher before you leave. There is an information sheet located on the refrigerator! For excessive clean-up beyond normal issues, will be billed to the Renter, payable immediately upon receipt. Q. Does MoM have a TV or Radio?
A. Yes, there is a 32" TV with DVD/VCR player in the Great Room. There are radios with CD/Cassette players. So bring your favorite movies and music selections, as there is no TV reception at MoM.
Q. What else do I need to know?
A. Phone number at MoM is 715-635-7035 and is available for local calls. On weekends, we require a 2-night minimum stay. MoM has central air-conditioning. MoM is a smoke-free retreat cabin, smoking allowed outside only. Any loss or excessive damage/cleanup beyond normal wear and tear, will be billed to the Renter, payable immediately upon receipt. Q. Do we receive priority for re-booking our same weekend in the following calendar year at MoM?
A. YES, you will have 10 days to re-book your same weekend in the following year! Otherwise, the web-site calendar dates will appear "open" and will be available to guests on our waiting list! |
